How Identity Theft Can Affect Your Credit?

Most people don't quite realize the turmoil that identity theft can cause with your credit until it's too late. Instead of being proactive about their information and their identity, they wait until someone steals it and costs them thousands of dollars or more. Why wait until something horrible happens? Why not learn what you can do to take a better approach to protecting yourself?

Maybe it's because you may not understand what all identity thieves can actually do with your information to tank your credit. Let me show you some of the different ways that your information can be used to really hurt your credit and some quick ways to prevent them:
???????????

Credit cards ??

Once an identity thief has your information, they can then open new credit cards in your name that come to their location. They then set the pin number and set it up to where they can use it and you get the bill. When they get the card, they go crazy spending until either they hit the limit on the card or they are finally cut off. No matter how much they spend, it's going to affect your credit when you get a bill you cannot pay.

To prevent this from happening you keep track of your credit cards closely by monitoring you credit reports and bank statements for any suspicious activity.? You may also want to consider a credit monitoring service such as CreditKarma.com, which is total free. ????????

Utilities ??

If you are unlucky enough to have your identity stolen, someone can put utilities for their home in your name. They then run up a bill until it gets turned off and you are stuck with the bill. Sometimes, you may not know this until it appears on your credit as the identity thief ignores calls and bills for the amount.

To prevent this from happening to you, simply check over your utility statement with a fine tooth comb, but sometimes this isn?t enough to catch the criminals before it?s too late.? This is where an identity theft protection program can come into can come into play and inform you of these issues before they become a problem.

Checks ??

Gaining your identity can also open the door for them to order checks in your name. They can then use these anywhere they want that doesn't take too much in the form of identification, allow the checks to bounce, and then the amount to be placed on your credit. What's even worse is that you can also get criminal charges out of this as well, and depending on how large the checks are, they can be felonies that remain on your record forever. Again, to prevent this from happening, it comes down to monitoring your banks activity with your account.? The other problem is that it?s way too easy for criminals to order these checks, so make sure you keep all of your statements this way you have proof it wasn?t you writing the checks.

Loans ??

When a thief gains your information, they can then apply for loans in your name. These can be anything from small loans to larger, home or car loans. When you then default on these loans (as they have no intention of paying your bill), it goes on your credit, and collection agents will then start the process of suing you for the amount. To prevent this, monitor your credit reports by checking them as often as possible.? However, this isn?t always possible, and this is why I suggest you also look into a credit monitoring service or identity protection program.

Online accounts ??

Normally, an identity thief can gain all of the information they need to allow them access into any of your online accounts. PayPal, eBay, Amazon, and many other sites that hold your financial information can be hacked into using the information that they have. Then, they can gain access to your credit cards, debit cards, checking account numbers, and order things in your name shipped to their location. To prevent this, first off, make sure that you create strong passwords for your accounts.? The best way to do this is to make sure your password is at least 10 digits long, contains upper and lower case letters, numbers, and at least one symbol.? Finally, make sure your online accounts are all different from any other accounts you use. Doing this will make it nearly impossible for any hacker to break.

Crime ??

If someone using your identity is arrested by the police or other law enforcement, they can give your information to the police. They can bail out of jail with your information, skip bond, and run up bills in your name as well. Or, they can use your information to commit a crime and then the police are looking for you instead of the actual criminal. This can cause you severe problems with law enforcement and cost you thousands of dollars in legal fees to clear it up. This is probably one of the worst case scenarios that could happen to you.? In fact, I?ve seen situations where the police have even arrested the wrong person for writing bad checks in their name.? Preventing this can be tough to do, and this this is where a good identity theft program can come into use to help you along the way.

Conclusions

Of course, on top of these areas, the lost money that it will cost you can total thousands of dollars or more. It will cost you time to dispute charges, time to go to court, time to file paperwork and reports, and to deal with fixing the mess that they have left behind. It can cost you more than just time and money; it can cause you to lose your house, your car, your job, and more.

The good thing is that if you simply start to be proactive in protecting your identity, you can put a stop to all of this before it ever starts. Protect your information online and be careful when giving out or ordering anything over the phone, online, or through the mail. You can also safeguard your email by changing the passwords constantly and deleting emails that have any type of personal information or links to it. At home, ensure that you are checking your mail and not allowing it to sit in your mailbox for any length of time.

As I also mentioned early, a great step that you can take is to enroll identity fraud insurance that will help to keep your information safe as well as provide protection for you if someone tries to steal your identity. There are several excellent companies out there that provide different types of identity theft protection, helping you to take a more proactive approach to keeping your information safe.

I recommend to everyone I know this type of extra protection for your information. Not only can these companies notify you if someone tries to use or gain your information, but they can offer piece of mind. Protection against identity thieves can help to save your credit, your money, and your time.

How about you all? What steps do you take to protect yourself and your credit history from identity thieves? Do you feel that identity fraud insurance and other protection programs are worth the money?

Toshiba unveils U925t Ultrabook with slide-out touchscreen, keeps the price a secret for now

DNP EMBARGO Toshiba unveils U925t Ultrabook with slideout touchscreen, keeps the price a secret for now

If Computex was a coming out party for Windows 8 Ultrabooks, Toshiba was one of the wallflowers: though the company teased some concept devices, it only let journalists photograph them from certain angles, and with their screens turned off. Now, though, we're closing the summer with yet another tradeshow, and Toshiba is using the occasion to demo its wares in more detail. The company just announced the Satellite U925t, that Windows 8 slider we showed you earlier in the summer. No word on price, except that it's expected to be "slightly north" of the Satellite U845W, which starts at $1,000. We do know that it will ship on October 26th, the day Win 8 formally launches.

In the meantime, Toshiba hasn't left any specs to the imagination. What we have here is a 12.5-inch Ultrabook with a slide-out, Gorilla Glass touchscreen. Pushing the screen up reveals a built-in keyboard, and we were pleasantly surprised in our hands-on to find that it's actually quite spacious. (With this form factor, the propped up display usually cuts into the usable keyboard space.) The keys are also backlit, and have the same feel as what you'll find on Toshiba's U845 and U845W Ultrabooks. That is to say they're shallow, and very, very quiet. The whole package weighs "just over three pounds" and measures about 0.8 inches thick, making it easy enough to stuff in a carry-on.

When you push up the display you'll also find another surprise: an autofocusing camera on the back side. For good measure, there's also a lower-res shooter up front. On the inside, it packs a Core i5 processor, Intel HD 4000 graphics and a 128GB SSD. Like many other Ultrabooks, it also has Intel's Wireless Display tech on board, though you'll of course have to buy the requisite set-top box separately. Taking a tour around the device, you'll find a mix of tablet- and laptop-style trappings: two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, vents, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a volume rocker and a button for turning off screen auto-rotation.

Software-wise, Toshiba is bundling Desktop Assist, a utility designed to give Windows 8 newbies quick access to files, programs and the like. You'll also see Live Tiles for things like Toshiba Central (a support hub), Book Place and Toshiba App Place. That's all she wrote for now, but expect us to follow up closer to October 26th with a more specific price. Until then, we've got hands-on photos below, along with a short walk-through video.

Marco Rubio: Immigration Reform, Latino Voter Outreach Not Just ...

TAMPA, Fla. -- Sen. Marco Rubio says both political parties need to do more to address the needs of Hispanic Americans.

The Florida Republican was reacting to comments from Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who said the array of Hispanic speakers at the GOP convention isn't enough for Mitt Romney to woo Latino voters.

Rubio, who will formally introduce Romney before he accepts the GOP presidential nomination, says Republicans can't just be the anti-illegal immigration party.

"Quite frankly, what's he saying is true for both parties," Rubio told ABC's "Good Morning America" of Villaraigosa's remarks. "Policies matter. And look, the Republican party does have a challenge. We can't just be the anti-illegal immigration party. We have to be the pro-legal immigration party."

He tells "Good Morning America" there are problems with Obama's decision to stop deporting younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children. Romney has promised to change that strategy but has not specified how.

"What [Romney] has said is that if he's president, there will be a permanent solution to that problem," Rubio said, not going into details as to whether Romney would rescind Obama's immigration order. "It won't require the short-term one."

Polls have shown Romney struggling to gain traction with Latino voters.

'Science Guy' Bill Nye takes aim at evolution deniers

In a video by the online knowledge forum Big Think, science educator Bill Nye urged parents to let their children's schools teach evolutionary biology.?

By Eoin O'Carroll,?Staff / August 27, 2012

Evolution is the fundamental idea in all of life science, in all of biology. According to Bill Nye, aka "the science guy," if grownups want to "deny evolution and live in your world that's completely inconsistent with everything we observe in the universe, that's fine, but don't make your kids do it because we need them."

That all known life shares?a common ancestor is just about as well-established a scientific observation as you're going to get. It's right?up there with ice floating on water and the moon not being made of cheese. And the scientific explanation for all the complexity and diversity of life on Earth ? first outlined by Charles Darwin some 150 years ago and continually refined since then ? remains the linchpin of the life sciences.?

' + google_ads[0].line2 + '
' + google_ads[0].line3 + '

'; } else if (google_ads.length > 1) { ad_unit += ''; } } document.getElementById("ad_unit").innerHTML += ad_unit; google_adnum += google_ads.length; return; } var google_adnum = 0; google_ad_client = "pub-6743622525202572"; google_ad_output = 'js'; google_max_num_ads = '1'; google_feedback = "on"; google_ad_type = "text"; google_adtest = "on"; google_image_size = '230x105'; google_skip = '0'; // -->

Of course none of this prevents staggering numbers of Americans from rejecting evolution. According to a 2007 Gallup survey, about four in 10 Americans believe that "God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years or so," an assertion that is, by any reasonable standard of evidence, nonsense.?

But creationism isn't just ordinary nonsense. It's politicized?nonsense. Nonsense that prompts TV shouting matches and comment-thread flame wars. Nonsense that bids rise to multimillion-dollar think tanks. Nonsense that makes journalists see a scientific controversy where none exists. Nonsense that ruins Thanksgiving dinner, causes high school buddies to defriend each other on Facebook, and eventually leads someone to stand up and make an exasperated call to Think Of The Children.

Which is what Bill Nye did. In a video for the Big Think, an online knowledge forum, science educator Bill Nye notes that Darwin's theory is essential for anyone who wants to make sense of the natural world, and that it is vitally important that kids accept it.

"We need scientifically literate voters and taxpayers for the future," he says. "We need engineers that can build stuff, solve problems."?

Nye says: "I say to the grownups,?if you want to deny evolution and live in your world, in your world that's completely inconsistent with everything we observe in the universe, that's fine, but don't make your kids do it because we need them."

But simply asking people to stop passing their beliefs on to their kids probably isn't going to do the trick. Even as scientists are busily mapping the genomes of humankind's closest relatives, creationists are only getting more brazen. Witness the taxpayer-financed Christian schools in?Louisiana?whose biology textbooks cite the?Loch Ness Monster?as 'evidence'?against Darwin.

Nye predicts that creationism will be dead in a few hundred years. But, as he is surely aware, that's pure conjecture.?Nobody knows what people living centuries from now will think of Darwin and the hexameron. It's far too early in the game to start placing bets against nonsense.?

Walls of lunar crater may hold patchy ice

ScienceDaily (Aug. 29, 2012) ? Small patches of ice could make up at most 5 to 10% of material in walls of Shackleton crater. Scientists using the Mini-RF radar on NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) have estimated the maximum amount of ice likely to be found inside a permanently shadowed lunar crater located near the moon's south pole. As much as 5 to 10 percent of material, by weight, could be patchy ice, according to the team of researchers led by Bradley Thomson at Boston University's Center for Remote Sensing.

"These terrific results from the Mini-RF team contribute to the evolving story of water on the moon," says LRO's deputy project scientist, John Keller of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. "Several of the instruments on LRO have made unique contributions to this story, but only the radar penetrates beneath the surface to look for signatures of blocky ice deposits."

These are the first orbital radar measurements of Shackleton crater, a high-priority target for future exploration. The observations indicate an enhanced radar polarization signature, which is consistent with the presence of small amounts of ice in the rough inner wall slopes of the crater. Thomson and his colleagues reported the findings in a paper recently published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.

"The interior of this crater lies in permanent shadow and is a 'cold trap' -- a place cold enough to permit ice to accumulate," says Mini-RF's principal investigator, Ben Bussey of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Md. "The radar results are consistent with the interior of Shackleton containing a few percent ice mixed into the dry lunar soil."

These findings support the long-recognized possibility that areas of permanent shadow inside polar impact craters are sites of the potential accumulation of water. Numerous lines of evidence from recent spacecraft observations have revised the view that the lunar surface is a completely dry, inhospitable landscape. Thin films of water and hydroxyl have been detected across the lunar surface using several space-borne near-infrared spectrometers. Additionally, orbital neutron measurements indicate elevated levels of near?surface hydrogen in the polar regions; if in the form of water, this hydrogen would represent an average ice concentration of about 1.5% by weight in the polar regions.

The Shackleton findings are also consistent with those of the recent LCROSS spacecraft's controlled collision with a nearby permanently shadowed polar region near the lunar south pole, which revealed evidence for water in the plume kicked up by its impact. A radar instrument flown on India's Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft in 2009 found evidence for ice deposits in craters at the lunar north pole. Measurements of the albedo (surface reflectance) inside Shackleton crater using LRO's laser altimeter and far?ultraviolet detector are also consistent with the presence of a small amount of ice.

"Inside the crater, we don't see evidence for glaciers like on Earth," says Thomson. "Glacial ice has a whopping radar signal, and these measurements reveal a much weaker signal consistent with rugged terrain and limited ice."

The radar measurements of Shackleton crater were made during three separate observations between December 2009 and June 2010. Radar illuminates shadowed regions and can detect deposits of water or ice, which have a distinctive radar polarization signature compared to the surrounding material. In addition, radar penetrates the terrain to depths of a meter or two and can measure water or ice buried beneath the surface. Radar measurements of Shackleton crater place an upper bound on the ice content of the uppermost meter of loose material of the crater's walls at between 5 and 10% ice by weight.

"We are following up these tantalizing results with additional observations," says Bussey. "Mini-RF is currently acquiring new bistatic radar images of the moon using a signal transmitted by the Arecibo radio telescope in Puerto Rico. These bistatic images will help us distinguish between surface roughness and ice, providing further unique insights into the locations of volatile deposits."

Retailers Battle For Pet Food Market Share - Talk Business

The next time you need pet food, retailers know there is a good chance you?ll turn to your iPhone or laptop instead of grabbing your car keys. This has led big box retailers like Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and PetSmart to beef up their websites and online product offerings to take advantage.

Pet food is big business. Combined with pet services, this burgeoning industry rakes in an estimated $52 billion annually, according to the American Pet Products Association.

Pet consumables account for about half of the sector?s total revenue and dry dog food alone garnered $8 billion in sales last year, according to The Pet Food Institute.

One growing segment is online pet food sales which totaled $666 million in 2011, according to a report by IBISWorld. The food and treat category comprised roughly 33% of the $2 billion online pet-related sales in 2011.

The report indicates retailers see better profits in online sales which have been possible in part by innovative improvements in the supply chain and lower overhead costs.

According to IBISWorld analyst Kevin Culbert, premium pet food and supplies have boosted profitability because they typically have higher markups.

?Niche players like 1-800-PetMeds and discount retailers like Wal-Mart have rapidly gained market share within the industry,? Culbert noted in the report.

So it comes as no surprise Wal-Mart wants a larger slice of the pie.

Earlier this month Wal-Mart Stores Inc. unveiled its first premium quality private label dry dog food under the brand Pure Balance. It?s an effort give shoppers another option for a higher quality food at lower prices than major brands with similar ingredients.

?Wal-Mart customers, including me, consider our dogs family members so when it comes to their food we want the very best for them,? said Jody Pinson, vice president of pets at Wal-Mart. ?Our customers told us they wanted to be able to feed their dogs a dry food made with pure ingredients without having to make a special trip to the pet store. We listened and are excited to offer Pure Balance, an ultra premium dog food, at a price our customers can afford.?

Offering it in the store is not enough as Wal-Mart faces increased competition from online sites of virtual stores like PetMeds and PetFlow. Specialty retailers such as Petco and PetSmart also run active online businesses. PetSmart recently revamped its website and offers 8,000 products which are not found in its stores.

IBISWorld estimates virtual retailers like PetMeds Express, the parent company of 1800PetMeds.com, garner the biggest online market share in the industry. PetMeds Express has about 8.3% of the total share. The specialty retailer offers about 1,200 products online and through direct mail ? 71% of its sales are derived via the Internet.

Consumers also favor Petco over PetSmart and Wal-Mart.com when ordering pet food and other supplies, according to IBISWorld.

Petco has an estimated 1.7% share of the online market and Wal-Mart has about 1%, according to the report. PetSmart ranks just below Wal-Mart with 0.9% as of 2011. When consumers think of Wal-Mart shopping, online options are not the first thing that comes to mind for many.

Consumers who earn more than $70,000 per year represent the largest market segment for online pet supply retailers, according to Culbert?s report. This income demographic is not generally deemed Wal-Mart?s core customer, but the retailer is still vying to get this business, and with good reason.

In 2011, IBISWorld estimates that this income segment accounts for 53% of total industry revenue. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, on average, these consumers spend nearly $700 a year on pets and supplies. Because they have higher disposable incomes, they can buy more pets, supplies, food and medication.

So it?s no surprise Wal-Mart offers pet food and supplies online. Consumers can order the new premium dog food online along with dozens of other brands and ask for (site-to-store) delivery and pay no shipping costs. Orders valued above $45 can be shipped directly to the consumer with no additional charges.

Wal-Mart does not break-out its online pet sales for the public, but the retailer clearly knows a growing number of consumers want that option, which is why there are signs posted throughout the pet food section of brick and mortar stores that read ?free site-to-store delivery?.

Wal-Mart also goes head-to-head with other specialty stores like Phoenix-based PetSmart.? The company posted comparable-store sales up 7% in the recent quarter, driven by a 2.9% growth in comparable transactions. The company?s top line increased 9% year over year to $1.619. million. Net profits rose 31% from the prior year, according to the PetSmart?s second quarter results released Aug. 16.

PetSmart said during its recent earnings call more shoppers are purchasing online which prompted the retailer to revamp its website that added 3,500 products this year, which are not sold in its stores.

Another competitor nipping away at market share is New York-based PetFlow.com. The online company says it shipped more than $2.5 million to online customers in July and is on track to post annual sales of $30 million this year. The company is just two years old and attributes its success to a subscription business model that automatically delivers the pet food to a customer?s front door.

?Since our inception a little more than two years ago, PetFlow.com has experienced extreme growth, but the statistic we?re most proud of is the very high return rate of our pet-owning customers,? said Alex Zhardanovsky, co-founder of PetFlow.com. ?The company?s growth demonstrates that our customers see their pet as a true family member and they profoundly prefer PetFlow.com?s subscription approach to purchasing pet food and supplies when compared to the traditional, big box retailer approach to shopping.?

PetFlow.com says it stocks more than 100 premium brands, more than three times the amount of its traditional retail competitors. The company also actively uses social media channels to create an ongoing dialogue with its customers, introduce new products and to engage the ?Pet Parent? demographic.

Green Blog: Michael Mann Threatens to Sue National Review for Defamation

Eighty-seven years ago, people and organizations who believed in freedom of scientific inquiry arranged for a test case of Tennessee?s law against teaching the theory of evolution. The result was theater so cogent that it was later distilled as the play ?Inherit the Wind.?

Now the climate scientist Michael E. Mann may be laying the groundwork for his own version of that trial, threatening to sue National Review for defamation. The offending piece was a blog post by Mark Steyn, which described Dr. Mann as ?the man behind the fraudulent climate-change ?hockey-stick? graph, the very ringmaster of the tree-ring circus.?

Like the original Scopes ?monkey trial? or, more recently, the legal challenge to California?s Proposition 8 ? a case already transformed into a play ? any hockey stick trial would be both well financed and extremely high-profile. Issues of free scientific inquiry and free speech, as well as parsing of the word ?fraudulent,? would likely dominate the proceedings.

And while the business of getting a trial together tends to be slower than the business of electing a president, the prospect of a courtroom defense of climate science ? or of the right of opponents to call it fraudulent ? might just nudge the issue into a little more prominence in the national campaign.

Certainly, the idea of a courtroom review of the foundations of climate science ? and of its professional standards and ethics ? had immediate appeal when Dr. Mann announced his intention on his Facebook page.

But after months of legal wrangling to keep Virginia?s attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli, from digging into his e-mails from his days at the University of Virginia, does Dr. Mann, now with Penn State, really want to open up his files to discovery motions from lawyers representing the National Review? What, then, was the point of beating back all those Freedom of Information Act requests?

It?s also worth noting that, unlike the Proposition 8 case, defamation is not a constitutional matter for a judge. It is a tort to be tried by a jury. Would defense lawyers try to shape from a jury pool a group that doubted human contribution to climate change? Could they?

Finally, science, a process of continuing inquiry that is sometimes beset with ambiguity and caveats, has never meshed terribly well with the cut-and-dried certainties that work best in a court of law.

Not for nothing did the National Review?s editor, Rich Lowry, write a column saying, in effect, ?bring it on.?

What Mr. Steyn called fraudulent is one of the most examined sets of data in climate science: Dr. Mann?s work showing changes in Earth?s temperature from the year 1,000 onward, with relatively little variation in the first 850 years (the shaft of the ?hockey stick?) and then a sharp rise in the post-industrial period (the blade).

It was published in 2001 with a report from the United Nation?s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Since then it has become one of the biggest targets for climate-change skeptics.

Dr. Mann?s lawyer, John B. Williams, pointed out on a Facebook post that repeated investigations, some in the wake of ?Climategate,? the 2009 release of e-mails by many climate scientists in correspondence with peers at the University of East Anglia, have supported Dr. Mann?s work. But Mr. Steyn is not the first to use the word ?fraud? or ?fraudulent? in the same sentence as ?hockey stick.?

Dr. Mann fought back most recently with the publication of his book, ?The Hockey Stick and the Climate Wars.? The legal threat seems to be the next step to put climate science, so long on the defensive, on the offensive in the public sphere.

Could a defamation suit against National Review help raise the profile of the climate-change issue during the current race? And if it does, which campaigns are likely to benefit?

If not, contact me immediately to spell out this more. And, if you do understand, let?s speak so we could coach you and widen your aims and narrow your target. It is remarkable to me, that I still see several Twitter pages with no web site information and a lot of times with extremely little acquaintances. Well, I can understand not having many acquaintances ? many people, and I was responsible until lately, don?t pay much attention to their emails from Twitter. That is why your personal Social Media program can correct this!2. Do you?ve your own personal lists that you?re concerned in?Twitter lists is a way to organize the people you?re pursuing on Twitter ? then you can get yourself a snapshot of the items these people are expressing by viewing that list?s site, or discover new people. You can check this out ? with a system, determine if a list is interesting enough to look at everyday, weekly, etc. And, make associations and get conversations going. This is one more thing I have seen. Plenty of times I?ll send a commenting note, not just a sales note, and never get anything back. What is that all about? Here again, people are forgetting relationship building. What Are The Two Best Credit Card Debt Relief Solutions ...

Why do people end up in debt from the use of their credit cards??

Most people have their own credit card for personal use. A credit card is a card that charges interest and is normally used for short term financing solutions. It is used for purchasing services or goods on credit. The company, institution or bank who issues the card will collect the payment for the purchased goods or services at a later date, normally every month.

debt relief solutions

Some people get overwhelmed when they use their credit cards and end up with credit card debts which become impossible to manage. The following are common reasons why people with credit cards often end up with bad debts:

When you have your own credit card, you need to be responsible for your own expenditure. Your attitude matters most. It is easy to spend more than you earn when you have your very own credit card. Sometimes a person?s negative attitude will lead to debts if not managed properly.

The providers of credit cards are another reason behind personal credit card debts. Most often, they will tempt you with offers that can bad for you in the future. You might encounter preapproval which can lead to an increase in the credit limit of the card.

The person?s behavior is another potential problem which may lead to credit card debts. Such problems like not being able to repay their full credit each month will lead to an added financial burden. The next problem is if they are unaware of the financial balance which may lead to their behavior of making frivolous purchases which they can?t afford. Another problem is taking cash advances and making large purchases which they know will give them financial problems in the future.

The credit card is easy to use, and because of this it can lead to people spending more often which in turn can lead them to go over their credit limit and result in added debt. Generally, credit card balances are charged including compound interest, if you don?t repay the whole outstanding balance each month.

What is the best solution for credit card debts?

The solution for the credit card debts is credit card debt relief which offers two solutions: debt management and debt settlement. The two solutions are both good for debt problems depending on your current financial status. Debt settlement means the settling of debts between the creditor and the debtor. Debt settlement services can help to get out of these problems. Debt management makes use of a plan to be able to organize the repayment of the debts and hopefully avoid the need to file for bankruptcy.

Repaying your debts is important for many different reasons. Debts are a bad image for you. Most companies or institutions will not trust a person that has a lot of debts. The best way to solve this is to repay your debts so that you do not have any more problems. This is easier than it sounds, once you get the hang of it.

'Shameful': Sandusky victim sues Penn State

Craig Houtz / Reuters

Second Mile founder and assistant Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky attends a Second Mile Easter egg hunt in State College, Pennsylvania, in this April 8, 1990 file photo.

By The Associated Press

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- A young man who testified against Jerry Sandusky sued Penn State on Friday for its "deliberate and shameful" handling of complaints that the former assistant football coach behaved inappropriately and sexually toward boys.

The suit filed by the person known as Victim 1 at Sandusky's trial said university officials made deliberate decisions not to report Sandusky to authorities.

It described their actions as "a function of (Penn State's) purposeful, deliberate and shameful subordination of the safety of children to its economic self-interests, and to its interest in maintaining and perpetuating its reputation."

The complaint was filed electronically in Philadelphia state court Friday night, Slade McLaughlin, a lawyer for Victim 1, told The Associated Press. The young man's initial accusations sparked the investigation that led to criminal charges against Sandusky and two university officials.

Sandusky, 68, was convicted in June of 45 criminal counts for sexual abuse of boys, both on and off campus. He awaits sentencing that will likely send him to prison for the rest of his life.

Penn State ex-president Graham Spanier: Freeh report on sex scandal is wrong

Victim 1 and his mother reported Sandusky to the boy's high school and the Clinton County child protective agency in November 2009. Their complaint triggered the state investigation that last year resulted in the criminal charges.

Former Penn State administrator Gary Schultz and athletic director Tim Curley, who is on leave, were charged with perjury and failure to report suspected child abuse. Both deny the allegations and are expected to go on trial in January.

Famed football coach Joe Paterno was fired. He died last January.

The suit draws heavily from court testimony, grand jury investigations and Penn State's own investigative report, conducted by former FBI director Louis Freeh. The report details how university officials handled the claims against Sandusky and Sandusky's behavior. Victim 1 is known as "John Doe C" in the complaint. The suit names no other defendants than the State College university.

Related content:

University spokesman Dave La Torre said the school has no comment on the pending litigation.

"The university takes these cases very seriously," La Torre said, adding that the current president and board "have publicly emphasized that their goal is to find solutions that rest on the principle of justice for the victims."

The suit claimed that a "special relationship" between Penn State and The Second Mile, a Sandusky-founded charity for youth, gave Sandusky a respectable public image and connections that enabled him to perform criminal acts.

The young man known as "Victim 2" in the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse case spoke out for the first time through his attorneys about how the former Penn State coach abused him and stalked him with phone messages. NBC's Ron Allen reports.

It alleged "(Penn State) believed its reputation and economic interests would be adversely impacted if the public learned that a man closely associated with the school's football program was, in fact, a pedophile."

The Second Mile's future remains uncertain, subject to a legal dispute.

'Numerous victims'
According to the lawsuit, Victim 1 met Sandusky about eight years ago, when the boy was 11 and a first-year participant in a camp sponsored by The Second Mile. In his second year, the boy drew Sandusky's attention and accepted invitations to spend nights at the coach's State College home and to attend professional sports events, the suit said.

Over a three-year period ending in 2008, the suit said, Sandusky assaulted the boy more than 100 times, including fondling and oral sex. The lawsuit claims Sandusky attacked "numerous victims over a span of 30 years," but noted that his criminal trial was limited to a 15-year period and 10 victims.

Following Victim 1's testimony, Sandusky was convicted of all six counts that related to him, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse for instances of oral sex.

The suit alleged negligence, fraudulent concealment, intentional infliction of emotional distress and civil conspiracy. It said Victim 1 has suffered physical and emotional injuries and will likely need medical and psychological help well into his future. The suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

Another Sandusky accuser has filed a federal lawsuit related to the scandal and a second victim has filed a court notice that he will file complaint. Lawyers have suggested others may take legal action.
